Deze post gaat over mijn zus, die ook mijn compagnon en mijn maatje is. Ik kan altijd op haar rekenen als ik met een technisch probleempje zit. Ze is namelijk vreselijk handig (mijn vader heeft ons veel geprobeerd bij te brengen maar zij heeft duidelijk beter opgelet) Tussen de links op mijn blog zie je onze gezamenlijke website staan
2 Bees, en om eerlijk te zijn wordt het meeste werk door haar gedaan. Ze weet altijd wat me bezig houdt en helpt me nadenken over hoe ik bepaalde dingen moet aanpakken. Vorig week had ze al een keer gezegd dat ik eens tussen haar oude familiefoto’s moest kijken, misschien kon ik er nog wat van gebruiken. Zij heeft de meeste familiefoto’s gekregen van mijn oudtante omdat zij zich er ook het meest voor interesseerde. Gisteren kwam ze met het boek aanzetten, maar omdat we weg moesten had ik geen tijd om erin te kijken. Dus gisteravond sla ik het boek open en kijk eens wat er op de laatste bladzijden stond….Het zijn kaartjes uit 1939, verstuurd als gelukswens voor de bruiloft van mijn grootouders. Een deel ervan zijn gelukstelegrammen. Waarom heb ik me nou nooit wat meer voor mijn familie geïnteresseerd….kan mezelf wel voor mijn kop slaan. Ze zijn super!!! En deze krijg ik vast niet…Ik heb ook nog een stapel oude ansichtkaarten van haar gekregen. Bedankt zus!

She is very handy (our father has tried to learns us a lot of things but she obviously paid more attention) You can see our shared website between de links on my blog 2 Bees, and I have to be honest, she does most of the work. She always knows what keeps me busy and helps me think about how to achieve this. Last week she said you have to look between my family pictures, maybe you can use something from it. She received most of the family pictures from a great-aunt because it interested her the most. Yesterday she had the book with her, but because we had to go I hadn’t had the time to look in it. So I browse threw the pages yesterday evening and look what’s in it……these are cards from 1939, send as a congratulations for my grandparents wedding. Some of them are telegrams. Why didn’t I show more interest for my family…I could have kicked myself. They are super!!! And I don’t get them… I also received a lot of old picture postcards. Thanks Sis!!!

Qua creatief denkvermogen stond ik toch ietwat achteraan, toen ze dat uitdeelden in de familie....

When we are talking about creativity, i was right behind you at the end of the line, when they give some in the family, the moment we were born!

Jacqueline I can understand you saying you could have kicked yourself but probably when they were given to your sister you may not have been on this creative journey that you are on now.

I just caught up with your blog after several days. Your posts are each so wonderful. I adored the jewelry and think that every embroiderer finds beauty in the intricate patterns and the tiny details found on rings, bracelets, etc.
The names you selected for your series of eight pieces are each well informed and quite personal. Perfect choices.
I especially enjoyed the artwork you showed from a local show. Like you, I find inspiration in other media. Glass and ceramics are meaningful. They are craft media, like fiber arts,...at first functional but carried to a status equal to painting. In fact, in most crafts one finds great texture, thoughtful meaning, fantastic coloring, symbolism, balance, spirit...and function. Craft is often "better" than anything else.
And last of all, your sister might have been wise enough to receive some priceless family heirlooms but she seems generous enough to share. That's a wonderful partnership!
