Patchwork Professional

This came with the mail today by Doreen from Australia, she put a lovely card with it. Thanks Doreen!!! Yours is on it's way!

This time no book review but a Magazine review. Shortly you can buy the magazine Patchwork Professional in Holland. (In the larger book stores) It is a German Magazine and available in almost whole Europe. There are some great articles in it; the only pity is that it also contains some traditional work. (Also with patterns) There are so many magazines with traditional work and patterns why also in a magazine that calls it self Professional? A professional quilter doesn’t need patterns. The draw or design them themselves. The articles in the latest issue, like the one over Claire Benn are really nice. As soon as the balance is 75 % advanced and 25 % traditional, I am gonna think of a subscription. Now I keep an eye on it, see how it works out. The magazine has really potential, with more articles like the one over Claire Benn it is gonna be a real recommendation. A few years ago started the magazine Euroquilt, only 3 issues appeared and then it was over. At this moment it is a thin appendix in the Magic Patch magazine. For me, it is to much a pattern magazine, naturally we can’t competed with Quilting Arts but it should be nice to have a good European competitor isn’t it?

I agree with you! But in Germany all be afraid that women do not have sufficient creativity. And the other reason is: Germany does not know textile artists. It is a big problem, but I think, all needs time in good old Germany.
