Friendly Plastic
Crackelee with foil
Vandaag heb ik de experimenten weer opgepikt, het eerste experiment was het werken met metaal. Doordat hier een laagje glasverf (ik begrijp nog steeds niet waarom) overheen moest kon ik niet gelijk verder er mee. Dit moet namelijk 24 uur drogen. Dus verder gebladerd naar het volgende experiment: Friendly plastic.
Gisteren heb ik een groot deel van de dag doorgebracht met mijn werkkamer op te ruimen en kwam ineens nog een zakje tegen. Aangezien ik het al jaren niet meer in hobbywinkels gezien heb (het moet er nog wel zijn) heb ik het gelijk enthousiast apart gelegd. En je raad het al: Ik kon het dus vandaag nergens meer vinden. Na een hele morgen zoeken bleek dat ik het dus gewoon op dezelfde plaats had terug gelegd waar het eerst lag. Over verstrooid gesproken…. Het ligt nu ook te drogen (wat is het eigenlijk leuk spul om mee te werken) en ik zit hier even achter de computer proberen inspiratie voor mijn volgende stap te krijgen.
Ik moet nog een aantal ATC maken om te ruilen en vanmorgen heb ik aangestoken door het Foil enthousiasme van Lynda en Carol wat foil over de crackelee quilt van gisteren gestreken. Een stuk beter vind ik zelf, er zit al wat meer verbinding in, toch ben ik nog steeds niet helemaal tevreden. Zoals ik vanmorgen al naar Susan schreef: Ik ben mijn eigen grootste criticus. En ik ben knap lastig af en toe :-) Ik ga gauw weer verder, wil zoveel mogelijk van dat extra uur profiteren.
Today I went on with the experiments, the first experiment was working with metal. Because this needed a layer of glass paint (I still don’t understand why) I couldn’t go on with it. Glass paint needs to dry for 24 hours. So I browsed to the next subject: Friendly Plastic. Yesterday I spend almost the whole day organizing my study again and suddenly I came across this little bag of Friendly Plastic. Because I haven’t seen it in hobby stores for a long time (it must be out there somewhere) I have put it away, very enthusiastic. So guess what: Today I couldn’t find it anywhere. After spending a lot of time searching for it, (this was not because of the experiment, only to see if I wasn’t going to loose my mind) Talking about an absent-mind…. I found it on the same place that I found it the first time. It is out there to dry also and I am sitting behind my computer trying to get some inspiration for the next step. I have to make some ATC’s for a swap and tomorrow I did some foiling on the Crackelee quilt from yesterday. This is all because of the enthusiasm by Lynda and Carol about this foil. They infected me, but I have to admit it is better with the foil, there is more connection, although I am not completely satisfied. Like I wrote to Susan this morning: I am my own worst critic. And I am a real trouble for myself too :-) I am gonna be back to work now, I have to take advantage from the extra hour today. (summer times is over)

Das hört sich echt spannend an. Hab auch schon bei Carol die Technik mit der Folie gelesen und möchte es auch ausprobieren.

You are ever so correct. I, too, am my own worst critic...but it is also this trait that keeps me trying to achieve something more. I think you work in a similar way...never satisfied and always willing to work harder.
The foiling looks wonderful.
I, too, lose things often. So far, however, I'm not looking for something that is still in my hand so I'm not crazy yet!
