Yesterday evening I did the experiment Etching on Velvet. I could say that it was a failure. What happened: I ironed the painted vilene on the velvet like the description said, after that I ironed foil on it, which was also no problem. But I liked the result so much that I didn’t want to use my heat tool on it, so I left the experiment on the side and worked further in my own way. I put a layer of tule on it to dim the colour a bit. On top of the tule I ironed some more foil, at least that was the plan, but the foil I had was 5 years old and didn’t glue well. So I went for the heavy stuff, after a workshop by Claire Benn; Metal Leafing, I bought some rolled gold and copper. This melted very easy. I didn’t value it enough before but it is really great stuff to experiment with. I have to skip the experiments 10 and 11 because I don’t have the material. The next experiment is tyvec, but in a very different manner. I must have some tyvec somewhere, but where?

this have a very exciting texture!
I agree with Gunnel, a very exciting texture. I love this distressed look that you have achieved.
Me too! I'm really beginning to look for ways to distress fabric, and the velvet works very well indeed.
I think your idea to do a series of experiments is very interesting and makes exciting blog posts, I'm looking forward to seeing what you do next!
