Er staan in het eerste deel nog twee experimenten: Wall Paper and Fabric Paper.
Ik heb me afgevraagd waarom in het boek experimenten staan met Wall Paper, Fabric Paper én Tyvec Paper. Zo op het eerste gezicht lijken ze allemaal op elkaar. Ik heb ze wel alledrie uitgeprobeerd om het verschil te zien. Het wall paper experiment heeft een vilt ondergrond, wel lekker stevig maar plakt niet zo heel lekker (ligt misschien aan de lijm) ook komt de lijm vlug door het vilt heen en plakt dan aan je ondergrond vast. Dat is ook het probleem met het fabric paper, omdat daar als ondergrond een open geweven muslin wordt gebruikt. Ik gebruik voor dit soort experimenten altijd een polyester plaat, makkelijk te verplaatsen en goed schoon te maken. Het tyvec paper is dus het makkelijkst te verwerken. Ik vind wel dat ze in ieder geval alledrie wel een interessant resultaat opleveren. De experimenten met borduursteken die hierna komen ga ik niet uitproberen. Ik vind het best leuk om af en toe wat borduursteken te gebruiken maar ik ben echt een machine mens.

There are two more experiments in the first part of the book: Wall Paper and Fabric Paper.
I wondered why the book has experiments with all three of them: Wall Paper, Fabric Paper and Tyvec Paper. At first sight they all look the same. I did try all three of them, just to see the difference.
The wall paper experiment has a felt background; it is firm but doesn’t stick that good. (Maybe it’s the kind of glue) the glue also comes threw the felt easily and sticks to the background. The same problem has the fabric paper, because the background is an open weaved muslin. For this kind of experiments I always use a polyester plate, easy to move and to clean. The tyvec paper is the easiest to use.
But I think all three make some interesting results. I skip the coming experiments with hand embroidery. I like some embroidery now and then but I am more a machine person myself.
