Tyvec

Once I am on to something I can’t let it go. My heat gun is now on my desk all the time. I am still making combinations from all sorts of material. This piece is a sandwich from: polyester fleece (the thick one, like Timtex or Lutrador) tyvec, three different coloured layers, angel wire and silk organza.
I first stitched the piece, free motioned because it is only a test piece and than melted it. At first I tried it with my iron, but, because the sandwich is very thick I took too much time. So I took the heat gun again, but even than I took quit a while to melt it. On one spot I melted it too long and you could see the polyester fleece again. I filled the wholes with embossing powder and than heated it again. The structure that came beneath is gorgeous, it is a pity you can’t see it in on the picture…..so I am doing the whole piece again, but more serious and with a different kind of stitching.

You certainly have developed an amazing surface here,
Jacqueline, I love the sparkling bits that suddenly appear beneath the main surface, can't wait to see the next stage of this one.

I love what you have done with the Tyvek Jacqueline.
The next step should be interesting.

Oh Jacqueline, you have read my mind. I was going to have a play with some tyvek today, now you have given me a head start in what to do :) This piece looks fabulous.
