a very bad picture of my serie of six, but it gives an impression.
What am I doing at the moment? Last time I mentioned that I am very busy with preparations for the holiday and I can imagine that this need some answers. At this moment there are 8 quilt sandwiches waiting to be quilted and that is going to happen in the vacation (I hope so) There’s a series of 6 quilts from previous vacation, almost done but not exactly, I show two of them. They are made of velvet, raised with monoprint and embroidery. I am doubting if I take them with me because, they will be finished them but there is so less to work on and they take precious space in the car. There is actually the two of us on holiday and we have a big car but we also have to many things with us. Sewing machine, Thread trunk, box with embellishments, pre-cut ATC’s, books, stack of quilts, drawing and writing material, more books, go on…and these are only my things. What else do we take, a bike, wheels, tool-box, extra bag with biking cloths, maps, itinerary, more books and I think I forget half of it. We also take 4 bags of Dutch magazines for my parents, because that is what they are missing the most. There is also good news, because we are taking two weeks holiday early and two weeks in September, no Val d’Argent this time. Last years we always went on holiday in September and combined it with Val d’Argent (a very big exhibition in France) where I did buy more material, that needed a place in the car. ( under the cloak of; so I don’t have to order it) That space we have for extra! Instead of Saturday, we are going on Thursday and I even have to work Thursday morning (we are at my parents place in six hours) Indeed I understand that some people find us foolish, but we’ll both have a great time!!!!

This is wonderful, taking the sewing machine on holiday, I love it.Thank you for the smile you gave me. Have a great holiday!
Hi Jacqueline - what a lovely post, you really made me laugh with your description of the packed car. I had delightful visions of you and your husband squeezed in there as well. Your quilt sandwiches look really interesting - I love the blue flashes on the top one, so vibrant. Is it paint? Hope we get to see the finished result on your blog. Debbi B
Oh Jacqueline, so funny! You could make your husband ride his bike there - now that would make more room!!!
