Passed my Exam

GESLAAGD!!!!

Passed my exam!!!! Finally time to do nice things again!!!! Tonight nothings gonna happen because my brother-in-law is coming by to install my laptop. So I am going to have a night off. (if I can, I know myself very well) I have still have some books to read, also the new Quilters Arts and the Professional Quilter (with an article from Peggy about inches) so I manage to get threw the night…..:-) Allright, just one bonus picture, this one is in the gallery at the moment, the creamy works from a couple of months ago. I framed them, this is the first time I tried something like that. You understand that my husband was real busy, sawing everything at size etc., painting.....if I didn't said it allready: Thanks my love!

Hi!
Many heart-felt congratulations on your examination.

I love the way you've selected to present your work. I ordinarily don't like art quilts that are framed...and I'm a framer during the day! What I lack in knowledge about AMCs (whatever they are) and trading cards and art quilts and neatly stitched lines and neatly stitched zigzagged edges, I make up for in framing.

If you didn't know it, the manner in which you presented this piece is called "a floater". It is absolutely PERFECT on your piece. A good frame is suppose to make a transition from the work of art to the environment in which the piece will hang. Unframed pieces of art (any media) often don't look "right" in a fancy, richly decorated interior. The work looks a little "naked" up on a wall in a room with ornate gilded frames and professionally framed photographs, etc. A "floater" makes such works look great. I can just imagine your piece in a most elaborate setting. It looks like a modern masterpiece. Brilliant! Your husband must be proud too.
