Dit is een proefquiltje wat ik enige tijd geleden heb gemaakt. De kleuren van de zeefdruk waren te donker maar soms gebruik ik deze toch om wat steken op uit te proberen. En hiermee bedoel ik dan de volgorde (route) van het stikken. De middelste schuine steken vond ik toch wel aardig dus heb ik besloten het quiltje te schilderen. Hiervoor gebruik ik gewone acrylverf. Je moet hier wel heel voorzichtig over heen gaan zodat het stikwerk niet mee geschilderd wordt. Ook vind ik het leuk om een beetje met licht/ donker partijen te spelen, door het ene stuk wat dekkender op te zetten als het andere. Dit is het resultaat. Nu nog even kijken hoe ik dit verder ga afwerken….

I like the middle quilting part, so I decided to paint it. I use normal acryl paint for this. You have to be very careful if you don’t want to paint the stitching either. I also like playing with light and dark, so I cover some parts more than others. This is the result. Now let’s see how to finish this…

Wow Jacqueline - I am impressed. I would be so worried I was going to spoil all that beautiful background and quilting! It is so interesting seeing your approach. Must try it (on a small scale!!)
