Yesterday I needed to go to the dealer with my two sewing machines for service, which is in Veghel, a two hour drive from here. But I don’t mind that because I couldn’t find a Bernina dealer nearby, that understand what I am doing.
Unfortunately when we talked about my travelling machine, all the defects from lately we had the same conclusion: he is almost diseased. And what is wise? We took a look at every machine available, very difficult choice. I am a real Bernina fan, so I didn’t want any other brand, but the cheapest Bernina was not really what I had in mind. So I closed a Janome, he is now on the table blinking at me and I don’t think I made a wrong choice. Because I only work on it during the holidays , for my regular work I work with the Aurora, I didn’t want it to be too complex. He is pretty simple but the quality is very solid. Unfortunately I can’t play with it today because I am going to Rotterdam today, playing with my granddaughter, that also is fun. This one you already discovered: the Christmas fibres (I don’t know how you call them) and a heat gun goes pretty good together. This time of the year you can really find some great stuff, so search between all Christmas stuff and you really find a lot of treasures.

That is a good reliable little machine Jacquqeline and I think you will enjoying it.
I would like a new toy just to take to workshops, instead of taking my Aurora (it's too precious!!)
Schöne Karten hast du gemscht!

I just got the Janome 405 the other day. It's my 2nd "simple" Janome and I just love it so far.
A few less stitches than yours, but I'll use it with my quilting frame. It's gonna be a real workhorse for me I think.
Janome machines have a really good reputation. If there had been a retailer in my area, I'd hesitated between husqvarna and janome.

Congrats on the new toy! I'm thinking of buying a smaller machine too for my vacations. I'm looking forward to knowing what you think of your Janome!
(I was in Zeeland today.. it was sooo windy!)
What a great new toy, it looks very simple in it's design, not too fussy. I've been delighted with my Janome embellisher, which is my first experience of their machines. I too favour Bernina, I have an old 1130, which I love, but it's worked hard and I don't think it'll last too many more years. I never take it out of the house now and use a simple little Brother instead, but it wasn't designed for FME, the teeth won't drop so you have to put a cover over them, which makes it a bit more difficult.
Congrats to your new toy!
Hey Jacqueline, is that what is called an embellisher? (I'm jealous:)
