- I don't always want to be the good girl who only makes nice things. As an artist I want to create things that move people, tantalise them and surprise them. It is the interaction which fascinates me: emotion rather than indifference. My work is unique. It doesn't fit one genre. What once started as Art Quilts has become a marriage betweens yarns, fabrics and paint and cannot be easily labelled. A recurring theme in my work is the search for transformation. By experimenting with material and colour, combining or fusing different layers and working with contrasts, I form and transform my work. My search leads me through many disciplines, but it always ends with textiles. The tangibility and softness of the fabric; the textures, the colours and the gloss; the irresistable need to touch which you don't get from any painting. Room for the material, modelling the fabrics, extending boundaries: greedy, curious, joyful!
