Twentse Welle

Gisteren ben ik de hele dag bezig geweest aan de quilt voor de Twentse Welle. Geloof me, echt geen makkelijke opgaaf. Ik ben gewend om met vreemde materialen te werken maar deze zijn wel echt lastig. De expositie van deze high-tech quilts is een onderdeel van de expositie "De kracht van quilts" die wordt gehouden ter ere van de opening van het nieuwe museum en het 25 jarig bestaan van het Nederlandse Quiltersgilde. De expositie loopt van 22 april tot 31 augustus.

De high-tech stoffen hebben we van tevoren ontvangen. Er is voor dit onderdeel een beperkt aantal quilters uitgenodigd en van wat ik uit het quiltnieuws begrepen heb, zullen er maar 12 inzendingen zijn. Ik kan uiteraard niets van deze quilt laten zien, maar ik kan wel een klein tipje van de sluier oplichten door twee stukjes van de stof te laten zien. Misschien wordt het dan iets duidelijker waarom dit zo lastig is.....hoe dit avontuur uiteindelijk afgelopen is kun je met eigen opgen zien in Enschede. Yesterday I was working all day on the quilt for the Twentse Welle. Believe me, not an easy job. I am use to working with strange materials but these materials are really difficult.The exhibition from these high-tech quilts is part of the exhibition "The power of quilts" that is organized because of the celebration of the 25th anniversary of our Dutch Guild. The exhibition runs from 22 april to 31 august. We received the high-tech fabrics some time ago. For this part of the show only a few quilters where invited and from what I read in the Quilt news (magazin of our Dutch Guild) there will be only 12 entry's. Off course I can't show you the quilt here, but I can take unveil only two pieces of the fabric we received. Maybe now it is clear why this is so hard...how this adventure finally ends, for the blog readers abroad I will put the picture on my blog once the is exhibition starts.
