New piece
A new work, whithout a title for now. The base is a brown felt, with a painted silk layer on top, polyester, scrim and paper. Embroidered with the sewing machine and with hand. Pictures can't be enlarged to see the details.

Lost Track?
I realize that you sometimes loose completely track what I am doing at the moment. To be honest: I can’t even cope with myself at the moment. I am now busy with the paint experiments and while one thing is out to dry, I am already upstairs busy with something else because I can’t go further with the piece downstairs, ha, ha. Can you follow me? It means that lost my survey a bit. Next weekend is the exhibition from TeXui in Middelbeers, this also needs my attention. And I have to make my work for CYBER FYBER ready and take it to the post office. I have nothing on my agenda this weekend so I can work a lot:-) First I am going to make a good list from all the things that need finishing. This is my experiment of the day, polyester fleece with medium and paint. Looks quite different than the Pelmet with medium, the surface is more rough and takes more medium? Hmmm…let me think about that.
For Judy: I can't replay because your mail adres is not known by Blogger. But the answer is: you have to experiment with all kinds off mediums, heavy or matt, it doesn't matter.

Shopping
all kinds of hologram paper
with hot soluble
with hot soluble

Today I didn't get much work done, I did a lot of shopping. Totally exited about the hologram paper from yesterday I decided to get some more, only this is a complete different quality. The hologram paper from yesterday I bought on a exchange and is more like plastic/ sheet like. The hologram paper that I bought today is more like cardstock. That reminded me that I have also hologram wrapping paper, I try that once with hot soluble. Till know I couldn't find a purpoose for the hologram paper, it is much too shiny. But together with the polyester fleece....marvelous!!!

Experiment
Yesterday evening I was playing with my heat gun. I have melted a couple of materials together, acryl felt, polyester fleece and sheets. I am designing a larger quilt and I wanted to try some techniques on some small pieces. These are the first two pieces. Where I am particular curious about was: how far could I go with melting the very thick sheet and the plastic coated hologram paper. Both didn’t melt very well but became very soft by the heating and could easily be stamped. I also melted some embossing powder on it. On the hologram paper I melted some polyester fleece and I also melted the borders from acryl felt. It is almost like lace, I like this effect very much although you have to be very careful not to melt it too much. I have three more test pieces before I work on the larger quilt, than I will decide what to do with it. What I am gonna do with the test pieces I don’t know yet, I made some hangings from it because it is easier to store but maybe I make a book of it.
